I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
